To be fully prepared for a booking, review the booking and child and family details. Remember, you should have already connected with the family to confirm the booking details.

Next, pack for the job! Here's a packing list to bring with you every time:

Mandatory Packing List

  • First Aid Kit

  • ID (Identification)

    • Families can ask for your I.D. but they cannot hold/copy/take a photo of your I.D. - they can only view it.

    • If you are uncomfortable sharing your ID (which is not required), you may decline. If the family has concerns, you should refer them to the Backup Care Servicing Team.

  • Notepad/Paper/Pen (Be sure to leave a thank you note!)

  • Cell phone

  • Phone Charger

  • Water Bottle (Stay hydrated throughout the day.)

  • Lunch & Snacks (Be sure to ask parents about any food preferences for example if they are vegetarian. Avoid any foods the family may be allergic to, like nuts. While you're not sharing your food with the child, certain allergies could be severe.)

Non-Mandatory Packing List

  • Toys, games or puzzles (Kids love playing with toys that are new to them!)

  • Mask (If it makes you more comfortable but it is not required.)

  • Hand Sanitizer (Especially after handling any public surfaces.)

  • Extra Set of Clothes (In case of spills or accidents.)

  • Books (For both reading aloud or quiet time)

  • Craft supplies (Stickers, markers, coloring books.)

  • Music player or small speaker (To play songs or lullabies.)

  • Bubbles or outdoor toys (Perfect for some fun outside time.)
