Can families ask to see a caregiver’s ID?
Yes, families can ask (preferrable during the intro call) a caregiver if they’d be willing to show their ID for identification purposes upon arrival. However, the family may only view the ID—they are not allowed to hold, copy, or take a photo of it.
Is a caregiver required to show their ID?
No, caregivers are not obligated to share their ID. If a caregiver is uncomfortable with the request, they may politely decline.
What should caregivers do if a family has concerns?
If a family expresses concerns or has further questions, you should direct them to contact the Backup Care Servicing Team for clarification.
