Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and how to use it.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

To help keep our systems and your personal information secure, we’re introducing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Workday. MFA adds an extra layer of protection to your login by requiring more than just a password, making it much harder for unauthorized users to access accounts.

As part of this update, all employees are required to complete a short MFA training in EdApp. The training explains how MFA works, how to set it up, and best practices for using it successfully. Completing the training will help prevent any issues when signing in.

To prepare for MFA, please take a moment to confirm that your current cell phone number is up to date in Workday. MFA will use text message verification codes as part of the sign-in process, so having the correct number on file is essential.

We appreciate your support in helping protect our systems and data. This small extra step goes a long way in strengthening security for everyone.

Commonly Asked Questions

What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?

MFA is a security feature that requires an additional verification step—such as a one-time code sent to your phone—along with your password when logging in.

Why is MFA being implemented?

MFA helps prevent unauthorized access, even if a password is compromised. It’s an important step in protecting both company systems and personal information.

How will MFA work when I log in?

After entering your username and password, you’ll receive a one-time code via text message that you’ll enter to complete your sign-in.

What if my phone number changes?

You can update your phone number at any time in Workday. Keeping it current ensures you continue to receive MFA codes.

Who should I contact if I need help?

If you have questions or need assistance, please reach out to your supervisor.
