Best Practice

We highly recommend that you mark yourself as unavailable when you are unable to provide childcare.

What does marking yourself as unavailable mean?

By marking yourself unavailable, you will NOT be automatically matched with a family during that time. It also means you will not be contacted by the Caregiver Booking Support Team about working for a new family during this time.

Can I still be contacted about a job while I'm marked unavailable?

Yes, IF you are marked as unavailable, the Caregiver Booking Support Team will ONLY reach out if you are personally identified as a preferred caregiver for a family requesting care. When and if our team reaches out about an opportunity, we will always provide you with the name of the family requesting care. If you still do not want to accept this job, you have the ability to say no, without any negative sentiments.

Why am I still contacted when I'm marked as unavailable?

Since families are requesting you specifically, it tells us you formed a great relationship with them or their children. To provide them with the best possible experience and you with an opportunity to work for a family you've already developed a relationship with, we feel inclined to extend the offer. We realize you may be busy during that time, but it's important for us to ensure both parties have the opportunity to say yes if you choose to do so.

What happens if I say no?

Assuming the family is interested in pursuing another caregiver during this time, our team will look to find another caregiver for this job!
